BTS Jungkook’s Surprising Real Reason For Choosing “Seven” As His Solo Debut Song

-

BTS‘s Jungkook revealed his entire recording process for his latest solo single “Seven,” including his journey to the US to record with producers.

All it took was one listen for Jungkook to fall in love with the song.

Jungkook revealed he had listened to the song beforehand along with Hitman Bang and both of them immediately fell for the song.

When I first heard that song, Producer Bang and I were like, ‘This song is so good!’

— Jungkook

Jungkook reflected on how other artists and the way they perform inspire him, and the moment he heard the song, he knew that he could imagine himself performing it.

I’ve seen lots of artists until now, right? I’ve seen their performance videos and I’ve been to their concerts. And I could just imagine myself singing that song.

— Jungkook

One of the biggest selling points was how he wants to portray a “grown up” and “cool” image.

I thought I’d look so grown up if I performed that song on stage after coming back. *Excited noises*

— Jungkook

Possibly wanting to break away from a cute maknae image, Jungkook was excited to look “grown up” to fans. With that, he knew it was the song for him.

Even the song’s various concept photos showed off just how much he wanted to appear more mature.
