Even better than industrialist Anand Mahindra’s compliment to Shah Rukh Khan on his performance in Jawan‘s song Zinda Banda, is the superstar’s epic response to it. It so happened that a day after the song’s release, Anand Mahindra shared a clip from the song, showing SRK dancing his heart out to the foot-tapping music, on his Twitter feed and wrote, “This hero is 57 years old. His ageing process defies gravitational forces! He’s 10X as alive as most people. #ZindaBanda ho to aisa.” The tweet caught the attention of none other than Shah Rukh Khan himself, whose reply read, “Life is so short and fast sir, just trying to keep up with it. Try and entertain as many whatever it takes….laugh..cry…shake…or fly…hopefully make some swim with the stars….dream for a few moments of joy.”

On Monday, the makers of Jawan released the first song from the movie. The song begins with glimpses of Shah Rukh Khan in a police uniform and then cut to the next scenes where we see him shaking a leg in a red shirt with a background full of women. The star power is of course SRK and we are hardly able to take our eyes off him. The song will bring back memories of the iconic Lungi Dance. Only this time, the Darr actor has outdone himself and how.
Sharing the video on his Instagram feed, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “When principles are at stake, one must fight, This battle is what makes you alive! I thank Wasim Barelvi Sahab with all my heart for letting us use this beautiful couplet with a minor change. The song is written by Irshad Kamil Sir, and the music is by my dear friend Anirudh. Presenting, Zinda Banda!”

According to sources close to the project, Zinda Banda features the superstar with over 1000 dancers, all of whom are women. The song has been filmed over 5 days with over ₹ 15 crore as the budget.
The prevue of Jawan was released earlier this month. Sharing it on social media, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “Main kaun hoon, kaun nahin, jaanne ke liye, read ah ( Ready to know who am I and who I am not). Jawan Prevue Out Now! Jawan releasing worldwide on 7th September 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.”
Directed by Atlee and produced by SRK and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan is slated to release on September 7, this year in n Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
