Sunny Deol’s reaction to Dad Dharmendra’s iconic on screen kiss with Shabana Azmi in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will surely make your Monday a whole lot better. The 65-year-old actor, who is keeping busy with the promotions of his film Gadar 2, was asked by NDTV’S Arun Singh, about his opinion on the kissing scene, which has stirred up quite a controversy across social media. Reacting to it, Sunny Deol let out a laugh and said, “My dad can do anything and he is the only actor I would say who can pull that off. He is a personality, who can carry off anything.”
Hema Malini, in a recent interview with Zoom, had also reacted to her husband Dharmendra’s screen kiss with Shabana Azmi and she said, “I have not seen it. I am sure people have loved him in the film. I am so happy for Dharam ji, because he loves to be in front of the camera, all the time. He cannot live without it.” She added, “Ghar mein bhi baithke, woh apni purani video dekhenge aur poochenge, ‘Main kaisa lag raha hoon‘ (At home too, he looks back at his old videos and asks. how do I look)?”
Prior to this, at the film’s success bash, Dharmendra spoke about the scene and he said, “Yeh toh mere baayen haath ka khel hai (this is such an easy task for me). Bohut maza aaya (had a great deal of fun).” He added, “Jab jab mauka milta hai, chhakka maar deta hoon (whenever I get an opportunity, I make full use of it).”
A few days earlier, in an interview with News18, Dharmendra recalled that his kissing scene with Nafisa Ali in Life In A Metro was appreciated as well. He said, “I am hearing that Shabana and I have surprised the audience with the kissing scene, and at the same time they have even applauded it. I think people weren’t expecting it and it came very suddenly which is why it created an impact. The last time I did a kissing scene was in Life In A Metro with Nafisa Ali and at that time too people had appreciated it.”
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was released on July 28. The film marked Karan Johar’s return as a director after seven years.
