The countdown has started for the eagerly anticipated movie The Archies by Zoya Akhtar! The official release date for The Archies, starring Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Aditi Dot Saigal, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina, was officially confirmed by Zoya Akhtar on Tuesday. Suhana Khan, the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, Agastya Bachchan, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, and Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of Boney Kapoor-Sridevi, make their acting debuts in this project. The cast of The Archies also uploaded a video of themselves celebrating after making it to a live billboard on Mumbai’s Western Express Highway, one of the busiest routes in India.
Zoya Akhtar announced on her Instagram account that The Archies will be released on December 7, 2023. She posted a new movie poster and stated, “My Moovy My Groovy The Archies arrive on December 7 #100DaysToGo.”
Agastya is in the centre of the poster, holding a guitar, with Suhana, Khushi, Aditi, Mihir, Vedang, and Yuvraj Menda on either side of him. A billboard in Mumbai displayed the Archies poster. A countdown clock showing the days left before the movie is available on Netflix and featured on the billboard. The musical, set in the 1960s, has already gotten fans to mark their calendars. In a video, Suhana posted on Instagram, The Archies Gang can be seen smiling as they gaze up at themselves on a billboard.
The billboard served as the backdrop for a photo in which the Archies crew clapped and hugged. Suhana penned, “The Archies are all set to arrive on December 7!!#100DaysToGo.”
In the meantime, Shweta Bachchan supported her son Agastya. She posted The Archies poster to Instagram along with the caption, “My son’s first billboard!!!! It just hits different!.”
Using a photo of the actors from the billboard, Agastya’s sister, Navya Naveli Nanda, added the caption, “That’s my brother up there!!!!! @thearchiesonnetflix coming to you on 7th December!”
The Archies, a coming-of-age musical, will take viewers to Riverdale’s fictional, hilly town on December 7, 2023. It chronicles the lives of Archie, Veronica, Betty, Jughead, Ethel, Reggie, and Dilton. The Archies explore freedom, heartbreak, friendship, love, and rebellion through the lens of the distinctive Anglo-Indian community.
Dot will play Ethel Muggs in the Indian adaptation of the well-loved comics, alongside Agastya Nanda as the endearing and talented Archie Andrews, Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper, Mihir Ahuja as the perpetually hungry Jughead Jones, Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley.
