Sadly, it’s time for Padma Lakshmi to pack up her personal knives and go.
The longtime host of Top Chef introduced on Thursday that she’ll be leaving the hit Bravo cooking present after 17 years.
“After a lot soul looking out, I’ve made the tough determination to depart Top Chef,” Padma wrote in an announcement on Twitter.
Since 2006, Padma has anchored 19 seasons of the Emmy-winning cooking competitors sequence that spawned quite a few spin-offs and made stars out of Padma and her longtime cohosts Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons.
“Having accomplished an excellent twentieth season as host and government producer, I’m extraordinarily proud to have been a part of constructing such a profitable present and of the influence it has had within the worlds of tv and meals,” she continued in her assertion.
Don’t fear, Padma stans. She’s not leaving our TV screens. In addition to her Top Chef duties, Padma has additionally hosted a journey cooking docuseries, Taste the Nation, on Hulu. Padma mentioned in her goodbye assertion she plans to proceed with the present, in addition to her books and “different artistic pursuits.”
“I’m deeply grateful to all of you for therefore a few years of affection and assist. Sincerely, Padma,” she ended her assertion.
Thankfully, Top Chef isn’t ending alongside Padma’s departure. Last month, Bravo announced the sequence will return for Season 21.
That’s about all the data we’ve got for the time being. It’s unclear if Tom and Gail will proceed and even tackle principal internet hosting duties themselves.
Suddenly, binging all 20 seasons of Top Chef might have simply skyrocketed to the highest of my to-do record.
Thanks for all the nice seasons, Padma.
