Sunny and Poonam Dhillon, who starred as the leading couple in the 1984 romantic comedy Sohni Mahiwal, reunited during the wedding celebration of Sunny Deol’s elder son, actor Karan Deol, who got married last month. They were joined by Rajvir Deol and Paloma, their younger children. The upcoming romance drama Dono from director Avnish S. Barjatya will feature Rajvir and Paloma in their acting debuts alongside one another.
On Tuesday, Dono’s producers unveiled the movie’s teaser. The romantic film takes place at a destination wedding on an island. Meghna (Paloma), a girl who is friends with the groom, meets Dev (Rajvir), a boy who is friends with the bride. At the beginning of the teaser, they are discussing rejections. They become closer during the destination wedding’s traditions, such as the pheras and the haldi ceremony.
The younger son of renowned director Sooraj R. Barjatya, Avnish S. Barjatya, makes his directorial debut with Dono. On Sooraj’s last two films, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Uunchai, Avnish was an assistant director. The last scene of the teaser hinted at Sooraj’s 1994 hit Hum Aapke Hain Koun, in which Prem, the brother of the groom (Salman Khan), falls for Nisha, the sister of the bride (Madhuri Dixit), at the lavish Indian wedding.
The Barjatyas’ Rajshri Productions and Jio Studios are the producers of Dono. In charge of the film’s creative production is Sooraj. Irshad Kamil wrote the lyrics, and Shankar-Ehsan-Loy composed the music. The teaser contains a glimpse of the title track. The screenplay was co-authored by Avnish and Manu Sharma, even though Avnish wrote the story.
