Fighter, starring Siddharth Anand, is doing well at the box office, grossing ₹225 crore worldwide. But the movie hasn’t performed as well as Siddharth’s hit movie from the previous year, Pathaan. The film featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, which grossed over ₹1000 crore worldwide, completely turned the tables on both the filmmaker and the actor. In addition, Fighter is soaring lower than War, Hrithik and Siddharth’s last movie together.
Fighter has done well at the worldwide box office, though it has yet to surpass any of Siddharth’s past records. On Tuesday, movie trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan tweeted the movie’s day-by-day collection, “#Fighter WW Box Office #HrithikRoshan – # DeepikaPadukone’s Fighter PASSESS the crucial Monday test with flying colours. Crosses ₹225 cr gross mark. Day 1 – ₹ 36.04 cr Day 2 – ₹ 64.57 cr Day 3 – ₹ 56.19 cr Day 4 – ₹ 52.74 cr Day 5 – ₹ 16.33 cr Total – ₹ 225.87 cr.”
Fighter appears to be flying low because of two main issues. As per the current pattern, the film is exclusively available in Hindi and has not been dubbed into any South Indian languages. It greatly misses out on the non-Hindi audience. Additionally, the movie is prohibited in the Gulf countries, which may have significantly increased its worldwide gross.
Among the lead cast members of Fighter are Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. It was released on January 25, just in time for the long Republic Day weekend, exactly one year after Pathaan.
