Gauri Khan gave her Instafam a glimpse into her Mumbai residence Mannat. Gauri, who has done the interiors for Mannat, posted a picture of herself standing next to a chest of drawers and she wrote in her caption, “A home is a place we can truly be ourselves… And how it is designed speaks volumes.” Gauri Khan, who launched her coffee table book My Life In Design earlier this year, added in her caption, “To know about my thoughts on design, pick up my coffee table book #MyLifeInDesign.” Sussanne Khan, who also happens to be an interior decorator, commented on the post, “Looking faaaaaab.” Zoya Akhtar dropped a star and heart-eyed emojis. Sangeeta Bijlani commented “So lovely.”

At Gauri Khan’s book launch event earlier this year, husband Shah Rukh Khan recalled when they had bought Mannat, they did not have enough money to furnish it. They had set up a meeting with a designer but soon realised that his fees would be beyond their budget and so Gauri Khan came on board. “We were like, this guy will charge us a lot so how do we do this house now? Then the only person to turn to was, I said listen Gauri, why don’t you become the designer of the house. So actually, Mannat started like that. So whatever money we earned over the years, we kept on buying small things for the house,” Shah Rukh Khan said at the event.
Last year, Gauri Khan designed a new nameplate for the entrance door of Mannat. “The main door of your home is the entry point for your family and friends. So the name plate attracts positive energy… we chose a transparent material with glass crystals that emit a positive, uplifting and calm vibe,” she wrote.
Gauri Khan has given makeovers to several Mumbai restaurants and celebrity homes over the years. She has decorated homes for several Bollywood stars such as Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan among many others. She has also designed restaurants like Arth and Sanchos. She also designed Alia Bhatt’s vanity van.
