New Delhi:

Salim-Javed – the name is enough. The superhit screenplay writers of the 70s, who had written the brand new guidelines of Hindi cinema, captured the general public sentiment in its purest type of their iconic blockbusters. Speaking to NDTV’s Nikunj Garg and Marya Shakil on the present India Through the Eyes of Its Icons, Javed Akhtar was requested to chart the profitable formulation of their tales which resonated with a whole era. Javed Akhtar recalled, “In retrospect, we had no thought. I’m so blissful that we did not know that. If we knew what society desires, what society was on the lookout for, it means we might be taking a look at society from outdoors and prescribing medicines. No, we had been a part of the society, we had been respiratory the identical air, we had been feeling the way in which your neighbour was feeling. We did that with out understanding that everyone was feeling the identical factor. It was a significantly better scenario, as an alternative of  sitting on a pedestal and considering, ‘Oh, these individuals wished such tales.’ We did it as a result of we wished such tales. And happily, circumstances had been such like all people wished these tales.”

Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan worked collectively in 24 movies between 1971 and 1987, out of which 20 had been commercially and critically profitable. They wrote screenplays for hit movies like Seeta Aur Geeta, Zanjeer, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Deewaar, Sholay, Trishul, Don, Kaala Patthar, Shaan, to call a couple of.

Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan recently attended a particular screening of Sholay, organized on the event of the movie finishing 49 years. The duo grabbed the headlines because the Amazon Prime collection Angry Young Men released and introduced again the golden days of cinema to the brand new generations. The docu-series has been directed by Namrata Rao. The collection obtained stellar opinions from critics and viewers alike.
