John Boyega is getting real about relationships and why he considers himself a “softy.”
During a recent interview with Esquire, John opened up about his current relationship status, his view on love languages, and so much more.
The They Cloned Tyrone star hasn’t been in a real relationship in four years, and his most recent one only lasted a few months.
This might be why John doesn’t consider himself a relationship guy. They may not be his main focus, but he revealed he is still open to one, if the right woman comes along.
“I want a relationship, but I don’t fixate on it,” John told Esquire. “I’m not opposed to it. I just haven’t met anyone that really ignites that in me.”
And it’s not like the thirst for John isn’t out there, from both fans and celebs alike, but, surprisingly, John said he’s “never dated a celebrity.” But not for lack of interest, he just doesn’t really go out to Hollywood parties.
As for his love language, John admitted he’s in-tune with all of them. In fact, he’s never understood why people feel the need to solely connect to just one.
“I’ve never understood there being a specific one. I mean, who likes touch without getting a gift once in a while? Who likes words of affirmation from someone that doesn’t actually touch?”
“I’m willing to take as much as I can give,” John added. “But, you know, I’m a softy. I’m chill. I’m spontaneous. And at the same time, I’m curious about people, so I create a space for honesty.”
And we can always appreciate a little honesty! To learn more about John, be sure to read his full Esquire interview.
