If you’re a Love Is Blind fan, you remember Nick Thompson — he was briefly engaged to Danielle Ruhl in the show’s second season.
In a recent interview with Insider, Nick didn’t have too many kind things to say about his experience on the show.
“It was overall a pretty awful experience,” Nick said, alleging that production expected the cast to film up to 20 hours a day and didn’t provide adequate food and water. He also claims he lost 15 pounds during the three weeks of filming.
He also claimed that the contestants’ passports and phones were taken from them during filming. “I recently met someone who was in a cult for 10 years, and this is like that. This is what they did to her,” he said.
Netflix, as well as the show’s production company Kinetic Content, didn’t answer to Insider’s request for comment on Nick’s allegations — but it should be noted that he isn’t the only person to speak out about being on the show.
Earlier this year, Amber Pike — who appeared on the show’s first season with now-husband Matt Barnett — spoke out against Love Is Blind and said that they were still together “in spite” of the show.
“I told them to stay away from us,” she said when asked about the couple’s relationship with the show’s creators. Yikes!
