New Delhi:

Tom Cruise – the global superstar – is back as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning One. The seventh instalment of this hugely successful franchise, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, was released on July 12. It also stars Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Vingh Rhames and Esai Morales. As film critic Saibal Chatterjee wrote in his review for NDTV, “Ethan finds himself up against a mysterious and invisible power with the potential to wreak havoc on mankind.” While Tom Cruise has once again wowed us with his death-defying stunts, we would want you to look at some of his non-Mission Impossible films.

Let us take a look at the list –

1- Top Gun Maverick – Amazon Prime Video

Pete Mitchell (Tom Cruise) must confront the ghosts of his past when he returns to Top Gun to train a group of elite graduates after more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators. Starring Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly and Jon Hamm, the movie went on to become a blockbuster hit.

2- Jack Reacher – Amazon Prime Video

In an ordinary town, five people are shot dead. Entire evidence points to a single suspect: an ex-military sniper who is quickly brought into custody. The man’s interrogation yields one statement- To get Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise). Released in 2012, this action-thriller has been directed by Christopher McQuarrie and stars Rosamund Pike and Lee Child in pivotal roles

3- Edge Of Tomorrow – Netflix

Edge of Tomorrow is a sci-fi thriller following an alien invasion of Earth and a soldier, who becomes humanity’s last hope. Bill Cage (Tom Cruise) then finds himself thrown into a time loop, where he relives the same brutal fight, his death over and over again.

4- Jerry Maguire – SonyLIV

Sports agent Jerry Maguire tries to get back on his feet after getting fired from his job. Talkative and ambitious, Jerry then is left with only one player, Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.),  who plays the role of a disgruntled football player looking for a better contract.

5- Rain Man – Amazon Prime Video

Rain Man‘s story revolves around a car dealer, played by Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise), who learns that his estranged father has died. He then returns home to Cincinnati, where he discovers that he has an autistic older brother named Raymond (Dustin Hoffman). Released in 1988, this movie is a road drama that deserves your attention.
