Did you realize AR Rahman as soon as refused to satisfy Michael Jackson? The music maestro revealed it throughout a meet-and-greet session on the Majestic International Convention Centre in Menara PGRM in Malaysia. In a video shared by Free Malaysia Today on YouTube, AR Rahman recalled the incident from 2009. He mentioned, “In 2009, the start, I used to be in LA. I used to be with my agent. And he launched me to a different agent, he mentioned, ‘He’s my pal. He manages Michael Jackson.’ I examined the waters and requested, ‘Can I meet Michael Jackson?’ And he mentioned, ‘Ah sure, positive. I’ll ship out an e-mail. There was no response within the first week. I used to be simply quiet, after which I mentioned, ‘Fine.’”
“Then the nomination occurred, I acquired nominated for the Oscars. Then, the e-mail got here in and it mentioned, ‘Michael Jackson desires to satisfy you.’ But I mentioned, ‘No, I do not need to meet him now. If I’ll win the Oscars, I’ll meet him. Otherwise, I’m not going to satisfy him.’ So, I used to be positive that I used to be going to win an Oscar. So I gained the Oscar,” AR Rahman added.
AR Rahman then recounted assembly the pop icon, Michael Jackson. He shared, “Next day, I went to satisfy him (Michael Jackson). He was in the home, in LA. My driver dropped me. It was virtually 6.30 PM. The solar was happening. And then any individual opened the door, with the gloves on. And I used to be excessive, I had gained two Oscars there. I felt (on) prime of the world.” FYI: AR Rahman gained two Oscars in 2009 in Best Original Score and Best Original Song classes for Jai Ho, from the movie Slumdog Millionaire.
AR Rahman described Michael Jackson as “variety.” He mentioned, “It was a pleasant time to satisfy him. He was very variety. He mentioned, ‘Oh, I really like the songs, what chords you programmed.’ He was speaking about world peace and ‘Why do not we do the subsequent We Are The World?’ he saved asking.”
AR Rahman continued, “So all that occurred. (Michael Jackson) launched me to his children. And I used to be jet-lagged, working day and night time. I used to be ready to go to India. So we had two hours. And he instructed me, ‘When I dance, I dance with my coronary heart.’…It was unforgettable.”
AR Rahman additionally talked about that after returning to India, he had an interplay with Michael Jackson, and the duo was planning to collaborate on a music. Unfortunately, that would not occur as Michael Jackson died in 2009.
