The trademarks mean that even if FIFTY FIFTY members successfully sued to terminate their contracts, they wouldn’t be able to promote under their current group name without permission from ATTRAKT.

ATTRAKT’s lawyer, who filed the trademark on behalf of the agency, confirmed this in an interview with Munhwa Ilbo.

Countries only recognize patents or trademarks that they award. In other words, (FIFTY FIFTY members) will not be able to promote in the U.S.A. or U.K. with trademarks obtained in Korea. Related to this, we have filed and obtained the trademarks (for FIFTY FIFTY) in four countries, including the U.S.A., the U.K., Japan, and China.
