BTS’s Jungkook has just set a new record on the United Kingdom’s Official Singles Chart!
On July 21 local time, the Official Charts (typically regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts) announced that Jungkook’s official solo debut single “Seven” (featuring Latto) had debuted at No. 3 on its Official Singles Chart, marking a new record for the highest debut of any song by a Korean soloist.
Jungkook is now the first Korean solo artist ever to debut in the top five of the Official Singles Chart—and only the second artist overall, joining his own group BTS (whose songs “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “My Universe” all also debuted at No. 3).
“Seven” also debuted at No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales chart and the Official Singles Downloads Chart this week, as well as No. 5 on the Official Streaming Chart.
Before “Seven,” Jungkook previously entered the Official Singles Chart with “Stay Alive“—his solo song produced by Suga for the soundtrack of BTS’s webtoon and web novel “7 Fates: CHAKHO,” which peaked at No. 89—and his Charlie Puth collab “Left and Right,” which peaked at No. 41.
Congratulations to Jungkook on his historic achievement!
