Actor Kim Seon Ho just visited the Philippines, and everyone is taking notice!
The Korean actor flew to the South East Asian country for local clothing brand Bench. They tapped him for a variety of schedules including a fanmeeting event and photoshoots for his very own featured collection.
Considering the size of his Philippine fanbase following his viral performances in Start-Up and Hometown Cha Cha Cha, it’s no surprise that they wanted to capitalize on his popularity.
Bench printed his recent photoshoot with them on the coveted billboard spot along EDSA Guadalupe, Pasig City. His face was printed on four large tarpaulins that could be seen from miles away.

On July 23, he posted a series of photos posing with his Bench advertisement, wearing a proud smile and throwing out numerous peace signs.
It was evident that he was happy to be seen in such a prominent location.
While many Filipinos were equally happy for him, a number of them couldn’t help but feel another emotion—embarrassment. This wasn’t because of anything Kim Seon Ho did but rather because of the state of the country.
They weren’t happy that the Pasig River he posed in front of was so obviously polluted.

It gave off a clearly green hue rather than the usual blue that clean bodies of waters are associated with.
They called the attention of the government to “rehabilitate Pasig River” because it is “an embarrassment whenever a visitor like this” is in the area.

One fan even edited his original photos to make the river cleaner, asking him to remove the current pictures on his Instagram account.
