Lady Gaga’s new album dropped at the moment, and, in true Gaga type, it’s one thing slightly totally different.
So, Harlequin can greatest be understood as a fusion between Gaga and Lee. And in a brand new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the “Shallow” singer defined the choice to “make an entire album impressed” by her character.
Unlike the primary Joker movie, Joker: Folie à Deux has musical parts. Speaking to Zane, Gaga defined that this side of the movie helped her construct a good deeper reference to Lee, which compelled her to proceed their relationship by extra music after shooting wrapped.
Notably, it’s difficult to assign Harlequin to at least one musical style in comparison with Gaga’s earlier albums, and he or she implied that this displays her character’s “complicated” nature.
She echoed these feedback in one other new interview with Rolling Stone, wherein she stated that the “meta-modernism” of Joker: Folie à Deux formed the accompanying album.
Of course, this isn’t the primary time Gaga has gone deep with certainly one of her movie characters. While filming House of Gucci, she “lived” as Patrizia Reggiani for a year and a half and finally turned so intertwined with the character that she needed to have a “psychiatric nurse” accompany her on set.
