Even Minji became a successful fangirl thanks to an interview at the festival.

Sitting down with a radio station, the hosts asked NewJeans, “Is there anybody you’re looking forward to seeing perform at ‘LOLLA’?” While there were so many artists to choose from, Minji was excited to see one in particular.

Giving a shoutout to the Japanese British singer, Minji said, “Rina Sawayama. I love her.” The answer didn’t go unnoticed.

Thanks to a fan account sharing Minji’s answer, Rina Sawayama saw the clip herself. She responded with the tweet, “Aw love u too Minji and NewJeans.

Funnily enough, Minji wasn’t the only successful fan from the sweet interaction.

Early in the year, Rina Sawayama proved she was a NewJeans fan by covering “OMG” during her concert.

See the Minji moment that turned her and Rina Sawayama into successful fangirls.
