Concern is rising among fans of SHINee‘s leader Onew, as the idol was recently spotted looking noticeably thinner and worn out during a rare TV appearance following his hiatus announcement. Onew had to step down from SHINee’s planned promotional activities for their latest studio album HARD, including the group’s highly anticipated 3-day concert. The group’s leader has been on a temporary hiatus ever since the announcement from SM Entertainment on June 9, who communicated to fans that Onew would be absent from promotions due to health concerns.
Recently, Onew visited the hospital after experiencing health issues and has since received a medical examination and consultation. It has been advised he will need medical care and rest. After careful discussion with the group, they have decided to have Onew focus on recovering for the time being as he will be unable to participate in the upcoming activities.

In a heartfelt message to fans, Onew clarified the reasons behind his decision to step down from activities. The SHINee star revealed that he had taken this break to ensure he would “continue to be with SHINee in the future.”

Fans were able to see Taemin and a bit of his everyday life on a variety show that was broadcasted on MBC this past Saturday, where Onew also showed up with the rest of the group.
The show included some of the rehearsals the group was going through to prepare for the official release of HARD, in which Onew was participating as well. Even though he looked much thinner and tired, he still seemed to find joy in being around his fellow band members.
