ZEROBASEONE‘s (also known as ZB1) Seok Matthew is going viral for an accidental NSFW moment!
Recently, a new episode of Idol Human Theater was released featuring ZEROBASEONE.
Matthew and Taerae played a game where they must out-compliment each other while holding hands, but the members teasingly gave each other “backhanded compliments.” So, Matthew commented that Taerae’s fashion appeared that he was going hunting.

Matthew’s comment shocked his fellow members. Seeing their expressions, he soon realized he made a mistake and that what he said must mean something inappropriate in Korean.
In Korean slang, “hunting” is basically synonymous with “hooking up!” It is to refer to men attempting to pick up women.
Solo Pocha is a Korean style bar also known for its concept of ‘hunting’ bar. In Korea, hunting is a term used when picking up women in random places.

Afterward, Matthew explained that he didn’t know the word had a different meaning in Korean slang. Since he’s Canadian, he is less familiar with the culture. He was just attempting to poke fun at Taerae’s orange hat as it appears like a bright hat that one would wear to go hunting in Canada. Canadian netizens can testify on his behalf too!
Because I am not familiar with Korean culture, I wasn’t aware of the other meaning of ‘hunting.’ So, Taerae always wears that hat … the hat for hunting. He looks like he is going hunting, but I received an awkward response… So, I wasn’t sure… That’s when I knew.
