“It’s part of our service to fans when we can make popular titles more accessible,” Asa Suehira, Crunchyroll’s Chief Content Officer stated. “These titles will be part of the 1,000 hours of Crunchyroll’s library available free for fans as a way of sampling the world of anime, building new audiences, and growing the already passionate community.”

Chainsaw Man was created by Tatsuki Fujimoto and was originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump between 2018 and 2020. Part 2 of the series began last July and is being published through Shueisha’s online Shonen Jump+ magazine.
