‘Fauda’ Actor Idan Amedi Seriously Injured During IDF Operation In Gaza – Reports

-

One of the stars on the breakout Israeli thriller Fauda has been seriously injured while fighting in Gaza as a member of the Israel Defense Forces, according to multiple Israeli media reports.

Idan Amedi, who’s played Sagi on Fauda since 2017, was wounded by shrapnel while taking part in an operation to destroy Hamas tunnels.

About an hour before Amadi was injured, N12 reporter Nitzan Shapira spoke to the actor in Gaza and the he said, “I’m fine, a little tired.”

Speaking of the tunnel network that was the target of his mission, Amadi said, “What was built here is crazy, crazy.” You can see the interview below.

Fauda, which means “chaos” in Arabic, follows Doron, a commander in Israel’s Mista’arvim counter-intelligence unit, and regularly touches on the Israel-Gaza conflict.

The show became a huge international hit for Netflix after the streamer licensed the first four seasons. It garnered significant viewing in countries such as Lebanon and cut through in Europe, Asia and the U.S. Yes, the Israeli network behind the show, reportedly announced plans for a new season of the show last September.

Lead actor Lior Raz – a former Israeli special forces unit soldier who also produces the show – and Fauda co-creator Avi Issacharov have also returned to the military after the October 7 attacks.

Amedi is also a musician. He auditioned for the local music competition show Kochav Nolad (A Star is Born) in 2010 while doing his compulsory military service.
