New Delhi:
Television actor Rohit Roy recently revealed that his daughter Kiara Roy was offered a role in Zoya Akhtar’s much-anticipated film The Archies. Rohit Roy and his wife Manasi Joshi Roy are actors by profession. Rohit Roy was asked by The Indian Express whether he will allow his daughter to pursue acting as a career. Rohit Roy said that he has no issues if his daughter Kiara chooses acting as a profession but also added education should be given priority as of now. Rohit Roy’s daughter is studying at Brown University. Rohit Roy shared an anecdote and mentioned that his daughter was already spotted at an event and offered a role in a big-ticket film.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Rohit Roy said, “About a year and a half back, I was at a fashion event hosted by Shabana Azmi. There was a great amount of media and paps and of course many stars. Later, Excel called me for The Archies. I told them that she is studying at the Brown University but I will check. I did tell her but she couldn’t give it a thought given the space she is in, where competition is intense.” Rohit Roy further added, “I have told her once you finish your education and want to give it a thought, we would wholly support you.”
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies marks the debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor.
Rohit Roy’s daughter Kiara completed 21 years two weeks back. Rohit wished his daughter with a lovely post. Rohit posted a picture where the parents kiss Kiara. Rohit Roy wrote in the caption, “And just like that, she turns 21!!!! Happy Birthday my lil baby… Wish you a lifetime of happiness above all else…God Bless.”
