The Baxters Trailer Previews Prime Video’s Newest Family Drama

Prime Video has released The Baxters trailer for its upcoming series adaptation of Karen Kingsbury’s bestselling novel series. The 10-episode family drama is scheduled to make its debut on March 28.

What is The Baxters about?

“The Baxters is a riveting family drama that follows Elizabeth and John Baxter and their five adult children,” reads the synopsis. “Season One of The Baxters centers on Elizabeth and John’s daughter, Kari, who learns the shocking truth that her professor husband, Tim, has been secretly having an affair with one of his college students. As her relationship is tested, Kari must seek comfort in her faith and family to discover if love is truly a choice and if her marriage can be redeemed. In this deeply moving faith-based journey, The Baxters must come together as a family to work through the challenges of life.”

The series is written and executive produced by Jessie Rosen, who’s also set as the showrunner. It will be led by Roma Downey, Ted McGinley, Ali Cobrin, Masey McLain, Josh Plasse, Cassidy Gifford, Emily Peterson, Reilly Anspaugh, Brandon Hirsch, Kathie Lee Gifford, Jake Allyn, Damien Leake, and Orel De La Mota.

In addition to starring, Downey is also executive producing alongside Will Packer, Kevin Mann, Brendan Bragg and Jaime Primak Sullivan. It is directed by Rachel Feldman and Tony Mitchell from a screenplay co-written by Marilyn Fu, Olu Odebunmi, Christina De Leon and Justin D. James.
