After unveiling some of its planned cards at San Diego Comic-Con last week, Wizards of the Coast showed off even more Magic the Gathering Doctor Who cards this past weekend.
Wizards of the Coast unveils over 40 cards in the upcoming set
The new Magic the Gathering Doctor Who reveal comes courtesy of Wizards of the Coast’s preview panel at its MagicCon: Barcelona event that occurred over the past weekend. During the panel, Wizards of the Coast dove deep into the upcoming collaboration with the iconic television franchise, as well as showed off a ton of new cards.
The main focus of the Doctor Who segment of the presentation was what some of the decks that are Doctor Who-themed will look like. The “Classic Doctor” deck, for example, will focus around the Historic mechanic in the card game, and be a Green, White, and Blue deck, and focus more on the first eight Doctors in terms of card art.
Other single cards were shown off during the presentation, including a look at Rose Tyler, The Face of Boe, Missy, River Song, and more.

The Magic: The Gathering and Doctor Who collaboration continues a year of big crossovers for Wizards of the Coast. Recently, the company just united with Lord of the Rings for a special set of Magic cards. Prior to that, have worked with brands like Dungeons & Dragons, Transformers, and Warhammer 40,000.
Next year, Magic: The Gathering will also partner up with Final Fantasy and Assassin’s Creed for special cards as well.
